If your loving what you do, your not gonna work a single day in your life

I took a recent trip to Brandywine with my homegirl, A Game, and I had a deja vu of so many 818 lunches as a Anteater freshman, not so long ago! Before I could really get reminiscient about the transition from the 24/7 having fun freshman me to the I'm-here-for-a-reason-let-me-party-at-the-libary sophomore, I noticed how they rearranged the setup of all the deserts. And most importantly, there were no bananas! Blasphemy!

I complained via to one of the workers, but they just directed my question as a "situation you need to take with manager." I couldn't find the manager so my ill rant wasn't heard. Plus, I also got distracted with some chicken fajitas.. so needless to say I didn't have a talk with the manager.

Aida got some nice looking tostadas, and she told me how while she was waiting to get served by the cook in his station he made some small talk:
Cook: "Hello there." (Gets tostada ready on grill)
A Game: "Hi." (Hungrily looking at the Mexican food)
Cook: "How was your day?"
A Game: "Oh, it was good. How about yours"
Cook: "It was pretty slow.. but I'm doing what I love.. cooking" (big smile)

Some notes I'd like to add: this was a 40-something-years-old looking man, and like he said it was a "slow" day at Brandywine. So whenever he wasn't cooking he would just be staring off at the window.

After A Game gave a quick rundown of the "funny story," I got all emotional and she asked if I was ok. I just thought: How precious is that, this filipino nearly middle age man is doing what he loves. I turned around and there he was making a tostada with a big smile.

"Doing what he loves." So all in all.
Story of the day in a nutshell: Even if situations around you change, whether it be time or things that turn out to not always be there (bananas, I miss you), as long as your doing what makes you smile in the mist of a slow day, you'll be happy in the end.
